There’s nothing quite like going home; The comfort food is stocked, there’s never a shortage of good conversation and mom’s coffee? Always on point. The same can be said for another kind of Home – the Outer Sunset’s contemporary coffee shop, Home Cafe.
I decided to make the trek on a recent sunny afternoon, partially because of the toast, but also because of the exotic coffee menu – you say lavender latte, I come running.
If you're in the area, here are a few things to know: first, the coffee shop fills up fast – and for good reason. Go early or expect to wait in line – but the good news is it goes fast. Second – they have two coffee menus: a standard menu and the "creative menu," i.e., lavender lattes, the birthday cake latte, cookie monster latte ... shall I go on?
And finally, order. the. toast. No really, order the toast. I rarely order food with my coffee (unless it's a ham and cheese croissant), but Home is the exception. I ordered the pesto tomato toast and added an egg and bacon (ugh, I know) and I haven't looked back. Next up will be the egg in a basket, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
