Because nobody said you had to live by the rules

"She serves champagne with pizza and eats takeout on china." - Kate Spade
Fancy dinners bore me. OK, but hear me out. I love the champagne, the pretty dresses, but the hype just doesn't live up to the ever-so-high expectations.
I'm more of an easy going gal (although some could beg to differ--lookin' at you, boyfriend). There's something romantic about grabbing dumplings in China Town all dolled up, laughing late into the night.
And sometimes, on the most unsuspecting of nights, I find it absolutely--completely--necessary to pop a bottle of champagne, throw on that made-for-dancing dress, and just stay in. No plans, no expectations, just a mid-week dance party for no good reason. My momma always told me I didn't have to play by the rules, and I'm not going to start now.
Before I dive into all the reasons you should consider adding champagne into your weekly repertoire (not really, but maybe), I'd like to first point out that this dress was bought specifically for those Salsa dancing class I was sure I'd take this summer. There's still time, right?
Anyway, here are a few little ways to shake up your week, because I'm sick of the nonexistent rule which reads, "one must save champagne specifically for special occasions." Isn't every day special enough for champagne?
1) First off, you're going to need a Netflix Account, takeout from your favorite greasy Thai restaurant (my favorite just closed down, which may have inspired this "live everyday like it's your last" kind of post) and, you guessed it, a bottle of champagne. For no other reason than it's a weekday and you should pamper yourself.
2) Why not take yourself on a date? I don't know about you, but there's a certain thrill about walking into your favorite local restaurant, ordering a glass of wine and diving into an indulgent dinner. I swear this post doesn't solely revolve around food and champagne.
3) Finally, it's nearing the end of summer, and if I had to bet, I'd say you've hardly cashed in on any of your Summer Fridays. Cut out of work early, jump on the train (or in the car) and head to the beach. Bring that book you've been meaning to read and remember why you're supposed to spoil yourself. Hell, you've worked hard for it.
