Coat + Coffee blogger Emily Czech's Morning Routine
You know that feeling when you come across a new blog – that "where have you been all my life" feeling? That's how I felt when I first stumbled upon Coat + Coffee, a blog by Emily Czech that talks travel, coffee, interiors, and so much more.
You could spend hours on Emily's website, digging through gorgeous photographs and simultaneously planning the vacation of your dreams. See, Emily is just one of those lovely women who make you feel like her best friend, even if you've never met her.
That's why, when Emily and I connected on Instagram, I knew she had to be featured as one of our morning routines. I could go on and on about her incredible talent – but that's clear to see on her website. Instead, I'll let Em clue you into her morning routine.
6:30 AM After multiple alarms, I am finally somewhat awake. I consider myself a morning person, but I'm also definitely an alarm snoozer. I like to lay in bed and scroll through Instagram and check my email to wake me up a bit. Once I'm finally up and out of bed, I have to brush my teeth before I do anything else!
7:00 AM I usually head out to the kitchen and start making a Nespresso for myself. I like to have a lungo with half and half while I do my morning skincare routine and get ready for the day.
7:15 AM My skincare routine is pretty short in the morning. I start by cleansing my face with my holy grail Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. That's usually followed up by a rotating eye cream. And I always finish with Origins GinZing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer. It has caffeine as an ingredient and a lovely fresh citrus scent, which really wake up my skin. If it's a weekday, I go pretty simple with the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. It contains SPF which is super important if someone suggests a lunch meeting outside. I am always prepared! Then I finish up my face with the Bamboo Bronzer from Ciate London, an Urban Decay Afterglow Blush, a light coat of mascara, and one of my most favorite products, the Glossier Boy Brow.
7:45 AM I get on my computer and start checking emails and check to make sure my most recent blog post went live okay. I post them at 3:00 AM PST, since I have a lot of UK readers. While getting a little work done I feed my corgi and play with him a little.
8:15 AM Officially out the door at this point, and during the week I try to stop for a coffee somewhere. Usually I grab an iced coffee unsweetened with half and half at Starbucks on the way into work, or, I'll stop at the nearest local coffee shop and get something to go or stay there for a while and work. Just depends on the day!
