What to do in NYC This Weekend
Ah, fall in New York City. Crispy leaves, cozy knits, and a retreat back to hot coffee (who else has been on an iced-binge?). This weekend, with the city coming to life in full-fall fashion, my itinerary is more packed than ever with festive activities. If you're in the city and looking for some ideas, here are 5 things to do in NYC this weekend.
Visit the New York Coffee Festival
Christmas in October? No, it's just the New York Coffee Festival (aka my favorite weekend of the year). This weekend (Oct. 13 – 15) join for coffee, snacks, live latte art, and so. much. more. Not convinced yet? See our 5 reasons to visit the New York Coffee Festival. Be sure to buy your tickets in advance – they're selling out fast. See you there!
See a Movie Under the Stars
Grab your blanket, gather your picnic gear, and head to Harlem for a movie under the stars. On Friday, October 13th (eee!) at 6:30PM, Beauty and the Beast will take over the park, making it the perfect early fall to-do. Get more info here, and try to arrive by 6PM to grab your spot!
Try a New Coffee Shop
You knew this was coming. New York is a haven of coffee, and with new shops opening monthly (literally) there's never a shortage of new places to try. On our radar? Little Roy Coffee, Sey Coffee (holy cute), and Flora Bar Coffee, to name a few.
Shop the Streets
The ultimate sign of fall in New York City isn’t foliage or frigid temps, it’s the street festivals. Stroll the streets for food and shopping – you won’t regret it. My favorite (happening this Sunday, October 15th) is the West 4th Street Festival, running along West 4th Street from 6th Avenue to LaGuardia Place. Happy shopping!
One of my favorite nights in the city started with a mani at Paintbox in SoHo. If you haven't heard of it, it's quite the experience (and comes with the price tag to prove it) but one thing is for sure: your nails will be runway worthy after an hour in the hot seat. Sip on a glass of champagne and try out their new fall menu (nail art menu, that is) just in time for the weekend.
