3 Easy Ways to Update Your Space
This time of year is great, isn’t it? The crisp weather that’s not quite summer, but not quite spring. The afternoon sunlight that brightens up your space, and makes winter feel like a not-so-friendly memory. And even better, in the midst of spring cleaning and packing away chunky sweaters, it makes for the perfect opportunity for a little update to your space. Keeping reading for 3 easy ways to update your space this weekend!
Freshen up your walls:
I don’t know what it is about this time of year, but it always makes me want to freshen up the paint, and update the artwork on my walls. One easy trick I’m loving right now? Self-adhesive, removable wall paper from TEMPAPER. Perfect for a quick seasonal update, even better to transform your space.
If you’re not ready to take the plunge (although TEMPAPER had me at “repositionable and removable”), try updating your wall art. It’s amazing how much of a difference it can make just adding paintings or pictures to your wall (hey, gallery wall, I’m lookin’ at you!), but I also love things like this rustic wall hanging or this hanging plant holder. Color and character: double whammy.
Repurpose Beautiful Candles:
I am a candle freak. Cabinets are filled with extras; my favorites are lining window sills and countertops and lighting the way on the patio. Needless to say, I have a lot of empty jars—jars that are way too beautiful to throw away. I love to repurpose my favorites, either as pen holders on my desk, makeup brush holders in the bathroom, or the perfect little jar for flower sprigs. Some of my favorites right now? Diptyque “Roses,” or a new favorite, Jo Malone’s Oud & Bergamot candle.
Anyone else a sucker for pillows? Personally, I can’t get through HomeGoods without a quick spin through the pillow aisle. It’s such an easy way to bring some bright colors to a dim space, or to make a cozy seating area for girls night. This kilim pillow is one I’m currently stalking, and I’m kinda-sorta considering this outdoor ottoman for the living room.
