“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” - F. Scott Fitzgerald
Earlier this week, I walked out of my building expecting to see the usual: men and women bustling to the subway, morning coffee in hand, the very friendly doorman at the building next to mine, and some ongoing construction on the corner store.
Instead, the construction zone had transformed seemingly overnight (like many things tend to do in New York). What was once a bike shop is now a floral shop, and said floral shop has transformed the corner of my block into a beautiful fall wonder world.
Pumpkins, cinnamon sticks, loads and loads of fall flowers. My very own Upper East Side Hocus Pocus steps from my door. That, and my first pumpkin spice latte of the season have contributed to my recent fall obsession. For me, this is the season for early morning writing and steaming hot coffee, cinnamon-scented anything (as well as pumpkin-flavored anything), and cosy cider nights in Brooklyn.
Above is a little gallery of inspiration for the new season. Bring on sweater weather!
