"Who knows where inspiration comes from. Perhaps it arises from desperation. Perhaps it comes from the flukes of the universe, the kindness of the muses." - Amy Tan

They say the new year is all about regaining inspiration. With the final 3-2-1 of the year, you're magically whisked to the start of something new--resolutions, goals, and a fresh slate of inspiration.
For me, a fresh start doesn't necessarily start on January 1st. It comes with new seasons. The fresh crunch of the first yellow leaf to hit the ground, or the first blossom of flowers coming to life in Central Park. It's the thought of the new, I guess you could say, that really inspires me.
Where do you go to seek inspiration? Is it in the deep corners of a book store, pouring over rare novels? Or is it at your favorite local brewery, where you'll sit and sip a craft beer while spilling your thoughts in a notebook, conjuring up your latest poem--or in Jess' case, her latest song.
Meet Jessica Timlin, the New York based musician otherwise known as Billboarddaddy. When she's looking to get inspired to write a new song, she heads to the East Village, strolling down the street, only stopping to take a photo or to pop into her favorite record shops.
So tell me, how do you get inspired?
